¤ CMG's objectives.
1. To provide facility for advance research in molecular genetics and genetic engineering at the University of Karachi.
2. To develop indigenous resources for R&D in molecular genetics and genetic engineering.
3. To train young scientists and research students with advance techniques in molecular biology, genetic engineering and biotechnology in microorganisms.
4. To arain academicians, scientists corporate-technical personnel from other institutions through workshops and seminars.
5. To facilitate scientific liaision between internationally renowned institutions and the University of Karachi.
6. To conduct scientific meetings to facilitate exchange of ideas between scientists and transfer of technology.
7. To increase public awareness and bridge the gap between industry and science by promoting new technologies and scientific breakthroughs.
¤ Facilities at CMG.
CMG consist of six labs well equipped for research in applied and pure microbiology, molecular genetics, genetic engineering and biotechnology. The center has a small in house library dedicated to literature servey on subjects under investigation.
